This is an extended promo I made for Dateline NBC’s social platforms, alerting their fans to the new timeslot; video below Dateline Facebook post. Other NBC commissioned work is at the very bottom of this page.

The following four videos are quick sketches I made for youtube. They were conceived, shot, edited, and posted within a few hours, just for fun. More can be found on my youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/Robinoelkers

Trying to find your Pelican case on a network shoot can be a real pain. This was my solution:

Having fun with my newly painted skateboard (see video above) and a GoPro.

Sunset Skateboards sent me a care package with decks, wheels, and apparel. Here are the wheels in action:

Same GoPro, more fun. I wanted the ability to pan during time lapses… enter IKEA egg timer.

2-time Olympian, Bobby Lea, asked me to edit this Madison race video he shot with 4-time National Champion, Jackie Simes.

Velothon Philadelphia and Silverline Athletics used this video I edited to boost registration numbers:

Dateline asked me to re-vamp their “Dateline Timeline” quiz from the 90s. This was the first edit:

Below you will find some of the programs I produced for NBC. They are embedded from NBC’s website, and are flash-based, so if you’re trying to view on an iPhone/iPad, it’s best to go find a desktop. The first is a Meredith Vieira Special / interview with Elizabeth Smart. I shot Meredith and Elizabeth on the grueling hike up to where Elizabeth was once held captive, as well as the camp from the air.

The next is an incredible story about US Airways flight 1549. I was on the NJ side of the river, shooting and coordinating a reunion between a father and son (who both feared the worst about the other’s fate, as they were unable to contact each other for hours after the crash). I won a producer Emmy for this report.

The third hour is an investigation into the Silicon Valley recluse, John McAfee, and his possible involvement in the murder of an American citizen… in Belize. This was a crazy goose chase that involved lots of puddle jumper planes, private boats, guns, and lots of wild dogs.

Finally, a compilation of some of the dispatches I worked on for the USA Network. Unfortunately USA no longer has the videos online (though you can find the interactive site here: http://www2.usanetwork.com/highway50/). The compilations you’ll see below were repurposed for Dateline, Today, and Nightly News.
